Mohill is a progressive business town with a long reputation as a coarse angling centre. It is situated in the Rynn Valley with a large number of excellent fishing waters within a 5 mile radius.

The statue of the famous in the centre of Mohill commemorates O'Carolan who is particularly associated with this area. Lough Rynn House and Gardens, former home of the Earls of Leitrim is located nearby.
