Leitrim village is the gateway to the Shannon-Erne Waterway and boasts a jetty with excellent facilities for the cruising traffic which passes through. It is well kept village with an excellent reputation in the Tidy Towns competition.

Lively night -time entertainment is assured as there are several good pubs. The village also has a trekking centre.
