Kinlough is well known, for nearby at Ros Friar on the Drowes
the Annals of the Four Masters, a history of Ireland up to
1616, were written. The Folk Museum offers an interesting
insight into the days and ways of old. The Four masters are
commemorated in stone on the Mullinaleck Bridge at the Donegal/Leitrim
boundary on the Ballyshannon road.

Located also at this point is a fishery and a picnic amenity.
The Drowes is famous for its Salmon fishing and permits, boats,
gillies are all available locally. Lough Melvin is the most
important Salmon and Trout fishery in the North West
