In the centre of the village of Kiltyclogher is a Memorial to Sean MacDiarmuda, one of the leaders of the 1916 Rising. His home is open to visitors by arrangement and is situated less than a mile outside the village just off the Manorhamilton road.

The Michael Shanley Traditional weekend takes place in mid-August and during this time there are sessiuns, concerts and classes as well as a door-dancing competition.
