Ballinaglera is a triangular parish bordered by the Stony
River to the south, the Shannon to the North, Lough Allen
to the West and an almost horse-shoe shaped range of mountains
to the East, forming an enclosed, bowl-shaped valley. It has
as its centre the small village of Ballinaglera.

There is a fishing facility on an inlet from Lough Allen
and a number of sweat houses in the area. St Hugh's Well is
also well worth a visit. A number of outdoor activities can
be enjoyed at the outdoor pursuits centre on Lough Allen.
