The arts and culture have always had important place in Leitrim life and never more so than today. Leitrim boast a huge range of artistic, cultural and family activities throughout the year and this packed calendar of events contributes greatly to the colour and life of the county for locals and visitors alike. Leitrim is also famous for its traditional music and it is no surprise that music is part of life here. There are regular music sessions in many of the pubs in the towns and villages with many informal gatherings of musicians who play for the fun of it. Throughout the year there is also a wide ranging calendar of musical events and regular theatrical productions around the county.
